PC-3000 for HDD. Seagate F3. How to Stop Worrying and Set Max LBA

This article provides a simple method for disk original size making and the analysis of hidden sectors, those LBAs undetected or improperly detected by PC-3000 or another software.

The difference between “models” sectors (shown in Drive ID) and “the real world” sectors (from ones you can get data) lies largery in hidden part of user area.

This hidden areas can be used by drive or reserved for defect lists. But this sectors can be created by decreasing of Max LBA.

This article proposes a quick approach to detect and uncover those sectors.
